Philippe Detzen got some unexpected news earlier this month… one of his new English teachers, Ashley Baldridge Medina was going to be leaving us at the end of the month.  In fact Halloween is her last day.  Ashley, newly hired this year, found out she was pregnant and under medical advice decided that her long commute was unwise in her present condition.  Philippe and I are very torn because we are so very happy for Ashley but so selfishly disappointed for us!  Jennifer Dermer, our English coordinator, Julie Higounet, our Pedagogical Director, and I quickly got to work to find Ashley’s replacement.  Among the many qualified candidates we interviewed, one seemed perfect for the position and fortunately accepted immediately!  He will start Monday morning so that he can spend a week with the kids and Ashley together to make sure the transition is smooth for our youngsters.  Ben Golburgh is a veteran teacher and is absolutely ready for the challenge.  I know that our Pasadena families will welcome him with open arms!
