Last Friday was Halloween. The pedagogical crew teamed up with the Los Feliz faculty and staff and decided to restructure Halloween somewhat to try and make it fun, pedagogical, and satisfy concerns of the security team.  According to tradition, Los Feliz celebrated Halloween on campus with the kids, however, they gave it a slightly different spin.  They closed off the campus to parents and centered all activities on the students.  The goal was to make the day exciting, different, AND take advantage of the pedagogical opportunities such a day holds.  All elementary children came to school in their costumes and went straight to class.  The junior high students set up activities and challenges for their elementary friends and right after lunch, the festivities began.  The junior high ran the booths and games and were chaperones for their younger colleagues.  The elementary students were given Halloween passports and had to negotiate their way around the animated campus engaging in activities and reporting back their successes to their teachers.  The whole day was fun and games without pumping the kids up on sugar! Enjoy the video!
