We are very excited to announce that on the week of December 1st, elementary students from LILA’s three northern campuses (Los Feliz, Pasadena, West Valley) will participate in the 1st Inter-campus Olympics for students K through 5 at a local park. For two days, (Wednesday for K, 1st and 2nd graders and Thursday for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders) LILA staff and external coaches will guide and supervise the children as they participate in a variety of different competitive sports activities.  Focus will be put on the pedagogical aspects of each sport while engaging in friendly competition – correct form, teamwork, and the understanding of the basic rules will be emphasized.

While their students are off-campus with their English teachers and other qualified staff, the French teachers will be involved in their own workshops to learn better techniques in relation to teaching Oral Communication skills in French which they will in turn be able to apply in their classrooms.

For this highly-anticipated activity, LILA will provide a bus from each campus at no additional cost to parents. Kindly write your child’s name on his/her sack lunch (no warm-ups) and include Gatorade, if your child likes it.  Don’t forget, students must wear their LILA t-shirt for easy identification. Please complete the Release of Liability and return to your campus.

Don’t worry, I promise to share a video with you on my blog after the event so you will be able to see first-hand everything that was accomplished in the park!
