In October of this year, LILA collaborated with the scientific department of the French Consulat to bring a very special exhibit and lecture series to LILA’s secondary students.  The project called “physique de femmes” which in translation “women in physics” loses some of its poetic play on words, brought some prominent female researchers and university professors to LILA to come speak to our students about their contributions to the world of science.  The event, which promoted science and the variety of careers the sciences have to offer all individuals, had as its goal to showcase women who have for so long taken a backseat to their male counterparts in the world of science.  It was truly inspiring to see our students get so excited about the conferences and ask so many pertinent and intelligent questions.  A very special thank you to these dedicated professionals who took time out of their busy schedules to come share with our students.
