The Pasadena campus students were invited to participate in a gingerbread house
competition by one of our own LILA parents, Denis Depoitre, who works at the Langham Hotel. Our brave teachers and students of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
accepted the challenge! They received the gingerbread house kits and built them as an art project. Some devoted parent volunteers even came in to help manage the messy
affair. Our student productions were selected by the hotel and all our kids were invited to the award ceremony to celebrate their work! Our student houses were displayed amongst
a massive decor created by the posh hotel’s pastry chef. The display will be on exhibit in the hotel lobby during the whole holiday season. As part of the awards ceremony
the kids got to enjoy a four star meal in the hotel’s restaurant. The grand prize? A new computer which goes directly to the Pasadena campus!
