The third annual Paige Gleeson Tournament took place on the LILA-Orange County campus last Friday, May 1st.  This year, the sports-oriented activities for Kindergarten through 6th grade took place for about an hour in the morning and then students had their normal lunch break before returning to their next class.  At 2:00 p.m. the PTO organized a kermesse with the help of the teachers.  All the parents were invited to join their children to enjoy the little carnival games together for the rest of the afternoon.

Paige Gleeson was one of our former students.  She passed away three years ago at the age of 9.  She was very much involved in sports; she especially enjoyed the camaraderie and competitiveness of play.  To honor her memory, LILA started up the Paige Gleeson Tournament as a way of enhancing camaraderie and competitiveness within our LILA community.  For this special event, we asked that each student wear one of her favorite colors:  purple, orange, red, and apple green.

Thank you Volunteers – parents and staff alike – for all of your efforts. It was a colorful, happy day… Paige would have enjoyed it tremendously!
