Pins et cèdres au cœur de la montagne, petits chalets au milieu des bois : bienvenue à El Camino Pines, un domaine situé dans Frazier Park, à une heure et demi de route au nord de Los Angeles. C’est ici que les enfants et les parents de PKA et PKB se sont retrouvés, pour un sejour de deux jours le mois dernier. Au programme : découverte de la nature, promenades, chamallows grillés au feu de bois, jeux et chansons pour les enfants… et nuit avec les copains !
Tout le monde en a profité : les enfants bien sûr, mais aussi les adultes pour mieux se connaître ou rire entre amis et les institutrices, ravis de voir les progrès de leurs élèves. « C’est un aboutissement d’un an de travail que de voir les enfants capables de faire tout cela. C’est un vrai groupe », juge Noémie Germain, maîtresse des PKB. Dix jours après, restent les photos et les souvenirs : cailloux, bâtons et pommes de pin à la maison.

Pine and cedar trees in the middle of the mountains, little chalets in the middle of the woods: welcome to El Camino Pines, in the midst of Frazier Park, just an hour and half north of Los Angeles. This is the setting where parents and children of Los Feliz Pre-K A and B all joined together for a two-night stay last month. On the schedule: discovering nature, hiking, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, with singing and games for all to enjoy … and of course having a sleepover with all your classmates!
Everyone had a blast… the children, of course, but also the adults were able to get to know each other better and laugh with the teachers who were beaming at seeing the progress the kids had made in just a few months! Pre-K B teacher, Noemie Germain explains “this is the culmination of a year of work with the kids. It is amazing to see them interact and be able to do so many things together!”
Now, days later… what remains… the pictures, the memories, some souvenir stones and sticks and pinecones that decorate our houses as trophies of their mission.
