Following our annual surf camp over the April break, we always get great feedback, some fun photos and a ton of tan kids... this year, one of our 6th graders, Sergio Cana, was named surfer of the week!
Here's what Sergio had to say:
“For the third time, I participated in Lila surf camp held in Manhattan Beach. I could stand up on the board for a few seconds. It was great feeling because I only surf once a year with the school. The atmosphere of the camp was very relaxed. We could surf two hours every day with professional instructors. Some of them have surfed all around the world and shared their experience with us. We had big waves for the whole 5 days. The water was very cold but I managed to stay in the water during the whole session. I was elected surfer of the week by the instructors which made me really proud. In the afternoon, we played beach games (volleyball, soccer) or visited Manhattan Beach pier. I will remember these moments for a long time. I came back home exhausted but happy!”
