I have to say that sometimes parents have a way with words ... seems crazy to write my own article when I get a letter from a parent that says it all...

Well, I went on my first field trip with my daughter (Chloe D. In Pre-K) last Thursday. I did not like it. I LOVED IT. As an educator, I was thoroughly impressed with the work that went into preparing this amazing experience for our children. It must have taken hours to take all the pictures for their scavenger hunt. What a great idea! Visitors were impressed as they saw 5-6 year olds walking around and naming painters or looking for their art pieces. The activity put in place with Metropolis was nothing short of amazing. Kids were looking around from different perspectives and discovering the entirety of the piece. As a parent, I was floored to hear my 5 year old daughter talk to me about Modigliani, Motherwell, Dubuffet, Matisse and many other painters on a daily basis. It was wonderful to see how much she enjoyed getting ready for her field trip. She told me about all the activities planned and put in place in the yard; how they had to look for clues and such. She loved it!

Did the kids have fun? Yes. Did they learn about Art? Absolutely. Is our team of teachers and pedagogical staff amazing? No doubt!!!

Video follows the series of pictures... take a look... in the video you get a glimpse of the "scavenger hunt notebooks" created on recycled paper...
