Wondering how you will ever get all your cleaning, cooking, and decorating done before the holidays? Want to tackle the malls
without your “little helpers”? Can’t figure out how to keep all the gifts a secret with the little ones in tow on the shopping trips?
Better yet, think your spouse would appreciate a little quiet time before or after the holiday parties? We have
just the thing for
you!
For the first time ever, LILA Pasadena, West Valley, and Los Feliz campuses will open their doors for 8 days during the
December vacation period to provide daycare for children 3 to 5 years old from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. While you are out facing the crowds, the children will be happily entertained by LILA staff in a
warm environment they are familiar with. You can register for as many days as you need (choose between December 20th – 23rd, 27th –30th), as long as
you do so before December 15th.
For older children, ages 6 to 14, LILA Los Feliz will offer soccer and tennis camp at Griffith Park on these same days.
Daycare will start at 7:30 AM and then children will be transported to Griffith Park at 8:45 AM. Return to the Los Feliz campus is scheduled for 3:15 PM, and children will be supervised there
until as late as 5:30 PM. Children from other campuses are welcome as long as they provide their own transportation to Los Feliz.

In 2005 LILA adopted a new calendar schedule which chopped the school year into
7-week
blocks. Therefore, every 7 weeks students get a vacation break which may or may not
coincide with major legal holidays. For years, teachers had been complaining that students were tired and that by
Thanksgiving
break students were not performing as well as they would be if they had had a break. The schedule at first was contested and to accommodate schedules
of working parents, the school put in place a system of camps during these weeks off that provide entertaining and different opportunities for students. This upcoming week is the October break. The Los Feliz campus will be hosting its traditional “circus
camp.” Students from Pasadena, Los Feliz, and even West
Valley have enrolled their children to attend what has become now a LILA
tradition.
Meanwhile, the West Valley campus
will have a martial arts camp and students who prefer this activity will be able to opt for the West Valley Camp.
Enrollment is not campus-specific so if a family can
logistically get there, the choice of camp is very much up to the individual family.

For those of you who are not registered for a camp, have a wonderful
vacation!
